The Unit participated in a workshop – Consultation on Implementation of UNSCR in Jordan – held in Amman during the period from 29-31/1/2017 organised by Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) with the participation of several local authoroties (Military Judiciary, General Security, Central Bank of Jordan, Ministry of Interior, Customes, Companies Control Department) in addition to experts from the United States of America.
The workshop discussed many topics regarding the UNSCR 2178 including the implementation of the resolution, the mechanism of the foreign terrorist fighters travel and movement, and how to deal with them after they return back to their countries. The workshop also discussed the role of the media and how it is exploited by terrorist groups in recruiting terrorist fighters and supporting them financially and morally as well as the importance of national and international cooperation in combating terrorist groups financing operations through the exchange of relevant information.
