The Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Unit participated in a workshop titled "formulating a regional response for exchange houses and money transmitters to counter financing of terrorism" held in Beirut, Lebanon in 9th January 2017 organised by Global Center on Cooperative Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and Bank of Lebanon with the participation of representatives of exchange houses from Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, And experts from special investigation commission of Lebanon and Bank of Lebanon And Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and UN Security Council. The mentioned workshop was inaugurated by secretary general, Special investigation commission (SIC( of Lebanon.

The workshop addressed several topics, which included the international guidance and mechanisms for Counter- Terrorist Financing, Modus operandi and typologies of Terrorist Financing, with a particular focus on "DAESH", In addition to discussing CFT Sectoral Defences: Compliance programs and risk indicators of TF for exchange houses and money transmitters- If they are aligned, In addition to enhancing public – private sector CFT cooperation.
